(Las Vegas, NV) -- Justin Bieber is calling out all his haters. After picking up the first ever Milestone Award at Sunday's Billboard Music Awards, "The Biebs" defended himself against what he called "bull."
In addition to the fan-voted Milestone honor, Bieber racked up wins in the categories of Top Male Artist and Top Social Artist. While Bieber was up for the night's biggest award -- Artist of the Year, he lost out to Sunday night's big winner -- Taylor Swift.
With a total of eight awards, Taylor also picked up wins in the categories of Top Female Artist, Top Country Artist and Top Billboard 200 Artist. British boy band One Direction didn't walk away from the ceremony empty-handed. The fivesome managed to come away with three awards, including wins in the categories of Top New Artist and Top Duo/Group. Among the night's other big winners were Nicki Minaj, Madonna and Rihanna.
The Billboard Music Awards weren't short of musical entertainment. Taylor Swift took the stage to perform her song "22" for the first time live on TV. Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and David Guetta were also among the many artists who entertained fans with performances. Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan hosted the event, which was broadcast live on ABC.
