Dang! This would've been so cool!
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande were reportedly supposed to surprise the crowd at a Drive N' Drag event scheduled for Friday night (June 30) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, however the venue has decided to pull the plug.
They were supposed to perform their hit single "Rain On Me" together.
Reports are saying that The Chainsmokers' charity show controversy in the Hamptons last weekend was the catalyst behind canceling the appearance altogether. The DJs made headlines after videos from the show went viral showing little-to-no social distancing at the event. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo took to twitter to say he was "appalled" and launched an investigation into the show.
On Thursday, The Rose Bowl chose to opt out of having Gaga and Grande perform in fear of contributing to another super-spreader event.
Definitely understandable!
Page Six reports via an insider, "Gaga really wanted to do it. But the Rose Bowl pulled the plug. They feared they’d lose their license.”
What do you think of the whole thing?
