Life's too short not to splurge on an expensive meal every now and again, whether for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary or simply to just treat yourself to an extravagant meal with exceptional service.

Using user reviews, awards and accolades, and first-hand experience, LoveFood compiled a list of the the "most expensive" place to dine in every state, the eateries that are "genuinely worth a blowout" price tag for the service, atmosphere and food you get in exchange.

According to the site, the most expensive restaurant in all of Missouri is Pierpont's in Kansas City, which has seafood options clocking in around the $200 mark. Pierpont's is located in Union Station Kansas City at 30 W. Pershing Road.

Here's what LoveFood had to say about this pricey establishment:

"This elegant restaurant, inside Kansas City's Union Station, dishes up small plates, seafood dishes, and prime cuts of meat such as the 24oz rib-eye, priced at $95. It's the most expensive main dish at Pierpont's, although steeper still are the seafood towers, costing up to $220 and large enough to share between at least two."
