After much talk about having a high-speed train built between SoCal and Las Vegas, the plan is back on track (literally).
The plan to build the high-speed train is now back in talks after a rail company announced it has taken over the project. The Florida-based Brightline company said it has gotten the rights to the 185-mile "federally approved" path from California to Las Vegas along Interstate 15.
The rail company Brightline said it will start construction next year which will have a total cost of around $7 billion! To me, I think that's totally worth it to lessen traffic and make going to Vegas even more convenient! The plan is to complete a link between Victorville, California and Las Vegas by 2022!
In case you haven't heard of Brightline it currently runs a Florida rail system which serves Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach... and within time, it will be serving California too!
