Dating is tough in Philly. Especially in 2022, it seems like no one is on the same page. In an effort to help, I want to lay out where to avoid picking people up so you can at least start out on the right foot.
- While they are working at their job. I can't stress just how inappropriate this is. The problem with this is that the person you are hitting on can't get away from you. They have to stay there trying to avoid weird eye contact for the rest of the day. Hitting on someone while they are at their job puts everyone in a potentially uncomfortable position and it's best to just avoid it completely. However, if you feel like they are into you (They probably aren't by the way) then maybe just leave a number on your way out so you don't have to make everyone's life worse.
- At the gym. I know it's tempting because you run into the same people from time to time and you know they share at least one common interest with you, but again hitting on someone in a place they can't get away from you is a recipe for disaster. If you absolutely have to, its fine to start a conversation with someone (Try going for someone NOT wearing headphones) but make it quick and don't ask them out. They will let you know that they are into you if they keep the conversation going and put themselves out there.
- On Dating apps. Just kidding, I wanted to see if you were paying attention. Go nuts on the dating apps that's what they are there for.
