Jonathan Bailey has had an outstanding few years, starring in films like Wicked and Jurassic World Rebirth as well as capturing hearts everywhere with his dashing role in Bridgerton, and now, he's been named People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" for 2025.
In the cover story for the annual honor, the English actor, 37, was praised for his charm and wit as well as his "almost unfairly handsome looks" and the chemistry he seems to have with all of his costars, including Scarlett Johansson. To sum up, all of the qualities that make up this year's pick for "Sexiest Man Alive."
"It's a huge honor," he said in his cover story. "Obviously, I'm incredibly flattered. And it's completely absurd."
Bailey, who is set to appear in Wicked: For Good, out November 21, is even still apprehensive about being the "internet's boyfriend."
"I don't know about that. There's so many of them, right?" he said, adding that he tends to shy away from some of the thirsty comments online. "I think sometimes you get really sucked in [...] But I might read it once a month. I might dive in."
The actor also shared some fun facts that readers may not know about him, such as his first celebrity crush (Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid), his worst habit ("I'm an overthinker. My brain goes off sometimes like the Fourth of July"), his irrational fear of snakes and his belief that "every guy should have a gay friend."
Bailey joins a long list of past winners of People's "Sexiest Man Alive," including Ryan Reynolds, Chris Evans, Channing Tatum, Patrick Dempsey and John Krasinski, who took the title last year.
